Requirements:

Candidates must to apply online through www.adeapass.org and search for Dade County Dental Research Clinic. In order to be eligible candidates must mail the following documents to Dade County Dental Research Clinic:

  • DMD/DDS/BDS Degree
  • Official TOEFL Score Report (passing score of 80 or higher)
  • Official National Board Part I and II Score Report
  • Official Dental Transcript
  • Certified English translation report by certified translation service (This have to be done only if the Official Dental Transcript is another language).
  • Official Dental School Diploma
  • Certified English translation report by certified translation service (This have to be done only if the Official Dental School Diploma is another language).
  • Official Course by Course and GPA Evaluation
  • Certified English translation report by certified translation service (This have to be done only if the Official Course by Course is another language).
  • Three (3) letters of professional references from a dental school dean, dental faculty, dental department chairs, dental directors, supervise faculty or dentists who have supervised your work.
  • Permanent Resident Card or Certified of Naturalization (A color copy)
  • Updated Cover Letter and Resume
  • Passport Photo
  • Application Fee ($250.00 Cashier Check, Money Order or Personal Check)

 

In regards to the selection process, twenty four (24) candidates will be chosen by the Clinic Program Director from which those selected will be contacted via email by the Residency Program Coordinator. During a span of two (2) weeks, a bench test and interview will be scheduled and conducted for those 24 candidates. The schedule for the bench test and interview process is as follows:


The first twelve (12) candidates will have their bench test and interview process on two consecutive days in one week and the second half of candidates will be scheduled the following week for two consecutive days as well.

During testing the Clinic Program Director will be present to supervise and provide necessary details regarding each portion of the exam such as tooth numbers. Candidates are assigned to an Operatory to complete the following procedures listed below on a Typodent within a given time frame of 2 hours and 45 minutes.

  • Preparation for a Ceramic Crown on tooth
  • MO preparation for a Composite Restoration on tooth
  • Fabrication of a Provisional/Temporary crown on tooth

 

  1. Use only instrumentation and material provided (no outside supplies except dental loupes)
  2. Do not remove the Typodent from the pole
  3. There is no music and no communication with other candidates
  4. All questions/requests are addressed to the proctor by raising your hand
  5. The time limits are strictly enforced when told to stop, stop immediately
  6. No cell phone usage during Bench Testing
  7. Feel free to take bathroom breaks when needed, but know that time will not be adjusted
  8. If there is an emergency and we have to vacate the building, the test will be paused and we will start from where you stopped when able to return to clinic.
  9. Keep aware of time allotted for test, don’t procrastinate but try not to rush through. Remember you want to present the best work possible.
  10. If you experience equipment failure please bring to attention of proctor by raining your hand. Any time lost will be added back.
